Vanish is a CLI tool that runs any command on managed Linux compute against your live working tree, including uncommitted files, and streams the output back to your terminal, so heavy builds, tests, or agent workloads don't drain a laptop's battery or CPU. It works by prefixing an existing command, such as "vanish cargo test," so adopting it does not require changing an existing workflow. The first run in a repository uploads and hashes the tree, which can take about ninety seconds on a 27 GB tree; after that Vanish adds roughly a second per command.
Why it made the leaderboard
Prefixing a command with vanish runs it, uncommitted changes included, on managed cloud compute and streams the output back, freeing your laptop while long agent-triggered builds or tests run.
