Context
Spotify added its Honk coding to an existing system for coordinating changes across many software components. Fleetshift selects targets, schedules work and tracks progress; Honk performs the code modifications using Anthropic's Claude and can run builds to check its changes. Spotify's engineering account describes this division of labor.
The agent therefore operates inside established maintenance and verification processes. Spotify's reported 2.5 million automated maintenance pull requests came from the earlier Fleet Management program built on deterministic scripts, so they should not be counted as Honk's output. The account shows how existing orchestration can support model-driven changes that are harder to express as scripts.
