Leftovers is a free, open-source macOS menu-bar app that finds processes, dev servers, and MCP server instances that coding agents left running after a session ended, so they can be cleaned up. It ranks processes by their real memory footprint (RAM plus compressed plus swapped) rather than raw RAM, surfacing swapped-out leaks that Activity Monitor hides.
Why it made the leaderboard
Surfaces the memory footprint of dev servers and MCP processes that coding-agent sessions leave running in the background, which Activity Monitor hides since it only sorts by RAM, not swap.
