cse-bridge is a self-hosted replacement for Google's Custom Search JSON API, which Google is shutting down for existing customers on January 1, 2027. It proxies search requests to a self-hosted SearXNG instance, letting developers keep their existing integration code by changing only the API base URL.

Why it made the leaderboard

Lets teams relying on Google's Custom Search API keep existing code running past its 2027-01-01 shutdown by self-hosting a compatible backend instead of rewriting against Vertex AI Search.
