Try these in your first Opus 5.5 session: → Hand over a whole task. Define "done" and when to check in. → Drop "think carefully". It always thinks first. → After a long run, check what it needs to go further. Our playbook: https://t.co/h4Vz9BIl0z
Context
When Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5, its developer account ClaudeDevs posted a short set of usage recommendations aimed at people trying the model for the first time, pointing to a fuller playbook for details.
The three tips given are specific to how this model behaves differently from earlier ones: hand it an entire task in one message and define what counts as done, rather than breaking work into small steps, because Opus 5.5 is described as handling multi-step work well on its own; drop phrases like 'think carefully' from prompts, since Anthropic says the model now decides how much to think on every reply by default; and after a long run, check in with the model about what it needs to keep going rather than assuming it's stuck.
