Timewaster is a Chrome extension for Gmail and Fastmail that uses on-device AI (Chrome's Gemini Nano) to draft replies to cold sales emails, turning a quick pitch into a detailed question the sender must answer before the conversation continues. Drafts are reviewed and sent manually, and the extension needs no account, API key, or cloud service.
Why it made the leaderboard
Pushes back on unwanted cold outreach using fully local AI (no account, no cloud API), giving users a novel, privacy-preserving way to make spam cost the sender time too.
