About

Fluentry is a local voice dictation app for Linux (X11 and Wayland) that transcribes speech using on-device Whisper or Parakeet models and types the words directly into whatever application is focused. It supports a custom dictionary to fix consistently mis-heard terms, spoken punctuation, filler-word removal, and optional local LLM cleanup via Ollama or LM Studio, with nothing sent off the machine.

Why it made the leaderboard

Linux/Wayland has almost no native dictation tooling, and this one runs entirely offline with agent-friendly API access, filling a real gap for developers who want to voice-prompt their tools without cloud dependency.
