About

bootgpt is a 512-byte hand-written assembly boot sector that loads an 11.5 KB int8 language model from the following disk sectors and runs it in 16-bit real mode on a 386 with no operating system. The char-level model, with 8 characters of context and one hidden layer, generates fake Linux boot log lines. A Python script simulates the same integer math so its output can be diffed against the boot sector output, and the two match character for character.
