Pirate Face is a decentralized platform that mirrors permissively licensed AI models, including LLMs, image, audio, and dataset models, from Hugging Face as checksum-verified torrents distributed by a peer-to-peer swarm instead of a single host. Each file's SHA-256 hash is checked against Hugging Face's official hash so a download can be verified as untampered even if the original source is removed, and the project describes a planned drop-in API that mirrors the Hugging Face endpoint so existing pipelines can switch with one environment variable.
