The Log Is The Agent - Ishaan Sehgal, Omnara

An agent can survive the loss of its running process if its history is stored separately. Omnara's architecture proposal records inputs, model responses, tool results and permission decisions in an append-only log. A replacement worker reads that history, reconstructs the session and advances it another step.

This makes conversation summaries replaceable views of the record: a shorter summary can guide the model while the original history remains available. Recovery still concerns the agent's recorded state. Returning to an earlier point does not undo an email already sent or restore a file changed elsewhere, so resuming work must account for those external effects.
