Lanes, a desktop app for running coding agents, made GPT 6 Astra available in version 0.49 and changed how its model picker is filled. It now asks the installed OpenAI Codex program which models it supports and uses that response directly. This lets the menu follow the installed tool without requiring a separate Lanes release for each addition. Release notes.
If Codex is absent, Lanes falls back to its built-in list. The supported change is therefore model discovery and selection inside Lanes; the release notes' enthusiasm about Astra rests on a quoted outside review and supplies no controlled comparison of model quality.
