Context
Nous Research offered temporary free access to a model called Ox Alpha through its Nous Portal in an August 21, 2026 announcement. OpenRouter later identified Ox Alpha as Z.ai's GLM-5.3-Flash in an Intel item on that reveal. The post also claimed capacity for one quadrillion per day. That figure describes claimed service capacity, not measured usage or a stated allowance for each account. The announcement specified neither an end date nor individual usage limits, only that the access was free for a limited time.
- token — The chunk of text a model reads and writes in — roughly three-quarters of a word — and the unit AI usage is billed in.
- eval — A repeatable test for AI quality — a set of tasks plus scoring — used the way software teams use test suites, because model output is too variable to judge by eyeballing.
