ElevenLabs is pitching its ElevenAgents voice agents to large companies that already run a contact center, and the central claim of its announcement is that they can add those agents without rebuilding that setup. A contact center platform, often sold as Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS), is the software that answers a company's customer calls, routes them to the right queue or person, records them and reports on them. ElevenAgents now has native integrations with four such platforms, NiCE CXone, Genesys Cloud, Amazon Connect and Five9, and connects to others over SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), the standard way internet phone calls are set up and handed between systems. In the flow the post describes, the contact center passes to the voice when the call starts. The agent verifies the caller, completes a task such as rescheduling an appointment or filing a claim, and logs the outcome in the company's CRM. If the caller asks for a person, it hands the call back through the existing routing with that context, so the caller does not have to repeat themselves.
What "native" means differs by platform. For Genesys Cloud the link is the Audio Connector integration, with no SIP trunking required. In Amazon Connect, Amazon's own AI agent can bring an ElevenAgents agent into a live contact to talk with the customer, do work in the background, or both, and control returns to Amazon Connect when the task is done. Five9 still transfers calls over SIP, through AI Agent Connect, a Five9 add-on that customers ask their account team to enable; the voice agent then returns routing and disposition data so Five9 can carry on, whether by transferring to a live agent, ending the call or recording the outcome. For NiCE CXone the post describes no mechanism beyond saying that CXone keeps managing telephony, routing and reporting, and it asks customers to get in touch. Any other platform, or private branch exchange (PBX), a company's own phone switching system, can connect if it supports SIP trunking, with call context passed in both directions through SIP headers.
This is a vendor announcement, and its benefits are stated as expectations rather than measurements. Lower cost per resolved call, capacity for sudden call spikes, round-the-clock service and more staff time for complex conversations come without figures, and the claim that the four platforms power a large share of the world's enterprise contact centers is not quantified. The one customer endorsement is unattributed: a quote from an organization that mentions patients and the clinical governance healthcare requires, saying Genesys was already its telephony platform and the native integration was an important factor in choosing ElevenLabs.
- Each integration works differently. Genesys Cloud connects through its native Audio Connector with no SIP trunking, while Five9 transfers calls to the agent over SIP through AI Agent Connect, a Five9 add-on that the customer's Five9 account team has to enable.
- On Amazon Connect, the Connect AI agent brings ElevenAgents into a live contact to talk with the customer, do work in the background, or both, and control returns to Amazon Connect when the task is complete.
- Without a native integration, call context passes both ways in SIP headers, so the agent knows who is calling and why and can hand that context back on transfer. Named telephony providers include Twilio, Vonage, Telnyx, Plivo, Bandwidth and Exotel.
- ElevenLabs says its transcription, speech and turn-taking models are tuned together as one system, and the post lists more than 17,000 voices, or a custom brand voice, in over 90 languages.
- A customer quoted without attribution, whose quote refers to patients and clinical governance, says Genesys was already its telephony platform and that the native integration was an important factor in choosing ElevenLabs.
- context window — The maximum amount of text a model can consider at once — its working memory for the current conversation or task.
- AI agent — An AI system that doesn't just answer once but works toward a goal in a loop — taking actions, reading the results, and deciding what to do next.
