Context
Cloudflare's WebMCP developer preview gives a website a way to expose tools to a visitor's browser without changing the site's origin code. Cloudflare inserts a small script into delivered pages; in a supporting browser, that script registers the selected tools.
The initial packs have specific roles. One exposes tools from a site's existing server using the visitor's session. Another reads image provenance metadata, such as a stated author and editing history. The latter reports those claims without cryptographically verifying their signatures. Enabling the preview therefore provides these defined interfaces; arbitrary website actions still need an implementation, such as the site's own MCP tools.
