Levelsio Argues AI Chat Apps Are Replacing App Interfaces for Normies

I am so confused why people don't understand this, I keep getting these replies Don't you get it? Normies don't vibe code, they just ask something like "do my bookkeeping" or "file my tax" or "organize a movie night and send invites" or "generate a flyer for movie night" or "edit my video" They don't ever see code, vibe code, or do anything with code, their AI chat app just does it for them Most of the software layer has already disappeared or will completely disappear for normies Just like building personal homepages permanently disappeared for normies when Facebook launched ~2005 A lot like this picture where functions of individual devices all got replaced with a single device Same happening with apps now

Context

Responding to pushback on an earlier post, levelsio argued that most 'normies' never interact with an app's interface or its underlying code at all: they ask an AI chat app to do their bookkeeping or organize a movie night, and the app carries out the task. He frames this as a repeat of an earlier shift, when building a personal homepage stopped being something ordinary users did once Facebook launched around 2005 and absorbed that function into a single platform.

This is his own argument and analogy, not a measured result. It describes a pattern he says he is observing, offered to people who kept replying that they didn't understand his original claim, rather than data on how many users have actually shifted from apps to chat-based requests.
