Pion, an agent designed to run any company autonomously

Andon Labs is opening Pion as a research preview for experiments in AI-run businesses. The platform lets people hand a business to persistent agents with access to tools including email, phone, banking, and a browser, so researchers can see what models can already do and where they still fail.

The company says simulation cannot accurately predict real-life performance, and that its AI struggled at first in a real vending-machine business. Opening Pion lets Andon run experiments beyond its own businesses, where it says it is limited by its capacity and lack of domain expertise. Its ambition to run any company remains a design goal: the launch account says its store and cafe were still unprofitable. The release creates a way to study business autonomy across more settings.
