Context
Browserbase says its Stagehand API keeps the browser's low-level commands tied to the instruction that produced them. In the company's architecture account, the older setup translated a command such as clicking a particular button into browser commands on the user's side, so the browser received the steps but not the goal. Now the client sends the high-level request to the hosted API, which translates it into the commands the browser executes.
According to Browserbase, doing the translation on managed infrastructure lets it see what instruction was sent to the and what came back, not only the low-level browser commands. The company presents this as making a failed automation easier to diagnose; the post gives no measured debugging improvement.
