built hardware before. >> Well, one of the unusual things about my background was I was a software engineer who became a hardware engineer. Very rarely does that happen. >> Um it it's very painful to build a chip because you go from getting those results quickly to having to wait, you know, four or six months and then you have to bring the thing up and you all this, right? One of the things that we've noticed in our team is hardware engineers who never wrote the software before. They would always go to a software engineer and say, "Hey, can you write the software for this?" Um, they're actually going, "Hey, why don't I just implement a little software test and see if this works?" And then they get immediate feedback and they're like, "Oh, this is harder to use." So um just like because think about it this hardware and software development are so distinct from each other. There's so many over overlapping parallels but but the the languages are different. The the you know way that you reason about it is subtly different because you have to think about physical constraints of wires and gates and everything when you're doing a chip that there's almost a fear for a hardware engineer to start writing software and vice versa. But now I'm a hardware engineer. I just ask an LLM to write some software to run on my hardware and it doesn't work the way I thought and I'm like, "Oh, maybe I need to change this." So, it's really empowered self-service in a way where before you had all of these sort of separated disciplines where now those those lines are starting to blur and people are able to reach into these neighboring disciplines and do things. Yeah, we're seeing the same with software engineers and designers. Whereas a software engineer, I don't need to wait for a design in order to implement something and vice versa. I think a lot of designers are using coding tools to just put something out there. >> Yeah. And if a software engineer gets in a debate with a hardware engineer, they can actually just implement it >> and then show that it works.
