Model family

A related line of models released under a shared name and technical lineage.

GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Grok, Mistral, Qwen, DeepSeek, Kimi, and GLM are model families, not single fixed models. A family can contain generations and variants optimized for reasoning, speed, coding, media, context length, or deployment size, so applications should pin an exact model identifier and date where reproducibility matters.
