Desert Ant Labs is a European AI lab building small, on-device models for mobile and web platforms, with SDKs for iOS, macOS, Android, and JavaScript. It launched publicly on September 8, 2026 with 18 specialized models for tasks like transcription, PII masking, and language detection that run fully offline via Core ML, LiteRT, and WebAssembly. Its founders previously built the video-editing app Detail, which pushed them toward on-device inference after hitting the cost and latency limits of cloud APIs.
