Programs that call tools
OpenCode’s CodeMode module interprets a defined subset of JavaScript-like syntax. A program can call tools supplied by its host, while filesystem, network and process access are unavailable unless provided through those tools. Host limits bound execution time and output. This gives coding agents a programmable way to combine tool calls without treating generated code as unrestricted JavaScript.[1]
Different schemas for requests and responses
Cline authored and merged an OpenAPI schema-projection change that builds separate request and response graphs. Request schemas omit read-only properties, response schemas omit write-only ones, and required-field lists are adjusted accordingly. The implementation handles references and cycles so these annotations remain consistent across nested schemas. This changes how tool inputs and outputs are represented; it does not itself create an authorization boundary.[4]
