Benjamin “Ben” Guo builds independent software and agent tools under Hraness. Previously a Zo Computer cofounder and an early Stripe engineer, he writes about persistent agent knowledge, application verification and operating a software factory.[1][3]

Guo worked at Stripe from 2015 to 2023 and describes becoming the first engineer on Stripe Terminal before moving into management. He then built a graph-based inference platform with a cofounder; after closing it, they developed Zo Computer. His August 2026 reflection explicitly closes his chapter as Zo’s cofounder and turns toward independent software and creative work. Hraness now presents tools for agents, knowledge, communication and application verification.[1][3]
Contributions
His software-factory account combines a knowledge base of backlinked Markdown files and SQLite with full-text, semantic, graph and Git-context retrieval. Agents record plans and decisions for later work. A separate application-testing layer creates repeatable UI states and scenarios an agent can inspect. Together, persistent reasoning and concrete verification address two recurring costs: rediscovering a codebase’s constraints and accepting changes without checking behavior.[4]
Ideas
In the earlier Zo talk, Guo demonstrates a personal cloud combining files, agents, integrations, scheduled work and hosted services. A reported retreat-booking workflow connects a website inquiry, a text notification, a payment link and business records in the same environment. The example illustrates consolidation and user control.[5]

Author[4]Zo Computer's cofounder argues that rented software leaves people without a machine they control, and demonstrates a personal cloud server driven in plain language. Two non-developer users run websites, invoices, bookkeeping and scheduling on it, replacing several SaaS subscriptions.
