Career
Lim completed his MIT computer-science doctorate in 2016 after research with the Imagination, Computation and Expression Laboratory. His earlier professional work includes game development and client-development leadership at Playfish, and a gameplay-programming internship at Kuju. He now leads technology at LightFury Games, after leadership work at Improbable.[4][5]
Contributions
Use a player’s created character as research data
His MIT work investigates connections between avatar customization, player identity and behavior. Computational models analyze choices people make when representing themselves in a game, offering a different source of player information from explicit questionnaires alone. The research asks how a game might better understand its players through the characters they create.[4]
Make saved posts retrievable
RewindBack synchronizes X bookmarks and adds full-text and author search, folders, tags and a timeline. A saved post becomes part of an organized personal collection rather than a location remembered only by scrolling. The site credits Chongdashu as its maker.[6]
