Notes that work offline
sncli provides both a console interface and scriptable commands for a Simplenote account. Its console uses configurable vi-style keyboard bindings and opens notes in the user’s editor. Changes are saved in a local cache and synchronized when the application goes online. That design supports writing without a connection while keeping the hosted note service as a synchronization point. Commands can search, export, tag and edit notes, so the same collection can participate in a shell workflow.[2]
Calendar access through the shell
gcalcli brings Google Calendar into a command-line workflow. It can list calendars, show agendas, search and edit events, import invitations and run another command when an event approaches. The project uses Google Calendar’s API and OAuth authentication rather than reading a browser session. Its current setup instructions require the user’s own Calendar API credentials. Davis is one of the project’s credited authors.[3]
Small improvements to a familiar editor
His mark-signs.nvim plugin shows Neovim marks beside the relevant lines in the editor’s sign column. Marks are named positions a user can jump back to, and displaying them makes those saved positions easier to recognize while editing. The plugin lets users choose built-in marks, refresh timing, priorities and key bindings. Its README explicitly credits marks.nvim as the more feature-rich project from which it was copied and refactored, placing Davis’s work in its upstream context.[4]
