Background

Lechevalier studied control engineering at CentraleSupélec. His portfolio spans radar sensing, synthetic training data, indoor localization and physical control systems. Earlier projects included a student-built event-stage organization and a neural network for recognizing his voice. CentraleSupélec also identifies his Blackwaves health-technology project among student entrepreneurial finalists.[1][6]

Contributions

Close the firmware development loop

nff exposes board discovery, compilation, flashing and serial inspection to coding agents through MCP. An agent can revise firmware in response to what a connected device actually reports. The repository distinguishes this local bench workflow from its hosted fleet service: it currently says the backend is offline, while local bench commands remain available.[2]

Make fabrication tools callable by an agent

OpenGalatea applies a similar idea to Prusa 3D printing. It exposes model discovery, slicing, print preparation and printer operations as tools, so an assistant can work through a fabrication task rather than stop at generating a file. It uses an MCP server and a containerized setup near the printer.[3]

Ideas

His POAD-MDP prototype represents device states and available actions as a graph. Observations update the agent’s view of the system, while outcomes influence which actions it should try next. The proposal combines tool access with feedback and quality gates; it is a prototype for improving an operating policy, rather than evidence that arbitrary hardware can safely run unattended.[4]

    nffgithub.com

An MCP-connected bench toolkit for compiling, flashing and debugging firmware with feedback from a physical board.

Begin with the local bench loop and supported board documentation. Follow a compile, flash and serial-feedback cycle on a test board; the hosted fleet backend is currently documented as offline.

Writing, research & talks

  • An MCP server that gives coding agents direct control of ESP32-class hardware: the agent writes, compiles, flashes, and reads serial output over USB on the bench, and with the device library deployed can capture panic state, read registers and backtraces, and push fixes over the air.
