Gustavo Gonzalez Somerstein is a Bolivian software engineer based in Santa Cruz de la Sierra who moved from enterprise software and banking — including a VP of Engineering role at Banco Fassil — into blockchain development. He previously worked at OpenZeppelin, the security firm behind Ethereum's most widely used smart contract libraries, before joining Taiko Labs as Director of Engineering, where he leads work on a type-1 based rollup designed to scale Ethereum without a centralized sequencer.
