Organize skills around a task and its source
SkillsMP indexes community skills from public GitHub repositories and provides browsing by category, creator and occupation. A skill’s page directs readers to the upstream instructions and related files. This makes it possible to compare candidates for a task and inspect the actual material before installation. The directory’s FAQ distinguishes discovery from an endorsement of every listed skill; its usefulness depends on reviewing the source and the permissions a skill needs.[2]
Expose the same discovery process to software
The REST API supports keyword searches combined with category, occupation and detected-language filters, or an exact GitHub creator login. Creator results cover material already indexed by SkillsMP. Pagination and sorting make the result set manageable for a client. API-key searches and MCP share an account allowance; clients must honor rate-limit responses and avoid automatically repeating an uncertain charged search.[3]
