Career
Cooper’s earlier engineering work spans Wolfram Mathematica, Bloomberg and Uber. At Uber he moved Jump Bikes systems onto Cadence. He founded Railway in 2020, pursuing a deployment experience that required operating hardware.[1]
Contributions
In his Railway interview, Cooper explains why agents need stable command-line handles, observability and cloneable environments. A production-like fork lets an agent investigate and test before changing the live service. Feature flags and progressive rollouts separate deployment from broad exposure. He connects those controls with owned servers, cloud bursting and cross-provider networking, including the operational consequences of provider dependencies.[1]

Start with agent handles and production forks. Deployment familiarity helps; inspect how changes are tested and rolled out before applying the ideas.
Interview guest and Railway founder[1]- The Agent-Native Cloud: 3M Users, 100K Signups/Wk, Data Centers, & Death PRs — Jake Cooper, Railwayyoutube.com
Railway's CEO discusses agent-driven growth in cloud signups, why reviewing agent-written code beats hand-writing it, and what infrastructure designed for agents looks like, including how to handle risky pull requests.
