Jesse Duffield created Lazygit and Lazydocker, terminal interfaces for Git and Docker. He is co-founder and CEO of Subble, a company that helps businesses identify unused or excessive software subscriptions.[1]

Duffield founded Subble while continuing to maintain Lazygit outside his day job. In Stepping back, he explains that the startup made it harder to give the open-source project enough time, so he handed leadership to co-maintainer Stefan Haller. That distinguishes creating a project from being its current lead. His current professional focus is Subble, which identifies unused and over-provisioned software licenses for businesses.[2][3][5]
Contributions
Making Git’s actions visible
Lazygit presents Git operations in a terminal interface. It groups the working tree, branches, history and changes into views, so a developer can stage individual lines, inspect commits or run an interactive rebase without remembering every command sequence. The repository’s rationale is reducing friction in common version-control tasks. It wraps Git’s capabilities rather than replacing Git’s data model, so understanding commits and branches still matters.[3]
The same approach for containers
Lazydocker applies a terminal interface to managing Docker resources. A developer can move between containers and related information such as logs without repeatedly assembling command-line queries. It addresses the routine work of seeing what is running and finding the relevant output. Duffield’s About page also lists Horcrux, a file-fragment encryption tool, and experimental projects such as the OK? programming language.[2][4]
