Matt Dailey builds Ref, a shared workspace for deciding what agents should build. His earlier public affiliations include Figma and Palantir. He writes about the design judgment that remains necessary when implementation becomes easier.[2]

In How I Design with AI, Dailey starts with constraints, explores multiple solutions and returns to the constraints when a proposed fix reveals a missing requirement. He warns against patching one confusing detail without considering the whole interface. His examples connect typography and layout to supported workflows and business states. The essay makes the engineer responsible for the design problem, even when an agent helps produce the implementation.[3]
