Continuing work across context windows
Posthorse tackles a practical problem in long agent tasks: the conversation eventually becomes too large for the model’s context window. Rather than automatically replacing old context with a generated summary, it combines fresh windows with durable notes and searchable history. Automatic rollover can retain a recent message tail and a bounded recovery record. The agent must still retrieve its notes and check the actual state of the task before continuing.[3]
Connecting Cursor to Pi
Fultz’s pi-cursor-sdk package runs Cursor’s SDK agent locally through Pi’s terminal interface. Requests go to Cursor while replies and tool activity return to Pi. A local MCP bridge can expose Pi extension tools to the Cursor agent. This lets users combine one agent runtime with another tool environment, but it also makes the distinction between Cursor’s native tools and Pi’s tool policies relevant. The repository documents those boundaries.[4]
Ideas
Storing a conversation does not guarantee a model will retrieve the right detail. Posthorse exposes tools for notes, history and deliberate resets. Its documentation describes limits around oversized input, background work and competing compaction extensions. Recovery materials remain accessible, while the agent must decide when and how to use them.[3]

Start with the rollover explanation and practical limits, then try it in an existing Pi setup. The examples are most useful after you have run a coding task long enough to encounter compaction.
