Career
Zed’s team biography dates Sobo’s arrival at GitHub to late 2011 and his Atom leadership through 2018. It credits him as a coleader of Teletype, an early production use of conflict-free replicated data types for collaborative editing. Zed carries that interest into a native editor where responsiveness and shared work are central design concerns.[1]
Contributions
Zed’s agent interface lets a developer hand off a task, follow the agent’s activity and inspect changes in editable diffs. A file tree and editor remain part of the workflow while the agent navigates code and invokes tools. The product combines agent execution with the human’s existing editing and review surface, rather than requiring a final answer to carry the entire change.[3]
