Career
Schmidt’s public account connects his Droidrun work with founding Mobilerun. The platform offers agents local or cloud device access through interfaces including Python, REST and MCP. His current demonstrations concern agents operating Android and iPhone applications, extending automation to interfaces designed for mobile users.[1][2]
Contributions
Route a task to the right device instructions
Mobile Harness is a compact set of Markdown operating instructions around the Mobilerun control API. Platform guides, application cards and recovery instructions supply context for a coding agent. A common Python facade connects supported local and cloud backends; capability checks precede optional operations. Accessibility-tree inspection, screenshots and action helpers expose the device state. The harness provides guidance and a control path, while the operator supplies an agent and an appropriately configured device connection.[3]
Retrieve application knowledge when uncertainty rises
The coauthored AppCards paper formalizes uncertainty during execution as a curiosity score. Above a threshold, an agent retrieves information from documentation, code or historical trajectories. Structured application cards represent functions, parameters and interface mappings and are selectively incorporated into reasoning. The study reports gains on AndroidWorld that vary by backbone, especially for multi-step and cross-application tasks. It makes missing application knowledge an explicit part of the automation problem.[4]

Read the platform guide for your device and follow the dependency check before connecting an agent. The documented runtime requires Python 3.11–3.13; local devices need their platform setup, while cloud use needs authorized service access.
