The x402 template places a payment gateway in front of an application. When a client requests a paid resource, the gateway returns HTTP 402 with the accepted token, network and amount. The client signs a payment authorization and retries; the gateway verifies and settles it before forwarding the request. Redis-backed nonce tracking and idempotency identifiers address replay and retry handling. This is software for developers who already have a backend and can configure settlement, rather than a hosted checkout service.[2]

x402 Payment Gateway Template
github.comA self-hosted gateway that verifies stablecoin payment authorizations before proxying API requests.
Read the gateway README and its six-step payment exchange before installing anything. Running it requires a backend, Node.js/Docker and wallet or settlement configuration; understanding HTTP requests is enough for the architectural overview.
