Peter Steinberger is an Austrian developer who studied at Vienna University of Technology and founded PSPDFKit in 2010, building it into a PDF processing engine used by nearly a billion users. After exiting the company, he returned to building in the AI era and created OpenClaw, an open-source personal AI agent that became one of the fastest-growing repositories in GitHub history. He joined OpenAI in February 2026, while OpenClaw transitioned to independent foundation governance.
