Owen, known as bad-auth on GitHub and bad_auth on X, develops software around Hyperliquid market data. The L4 Book Visualizer exposes individual orders and their positions in an order-book queue.[1][2]

Contributions
The visualizer receives an L4 snapshot through a WebSocket connection and applies incremental changes. A heatmap stacks orders by price and colors them by age, while a depth chart shows cumulative bid and ask volume. A Web Worker handles parsing and data construction away from the interface thread. Controls change tick size and rebuild frequency, allowing a user to inspect detail while managing rendering work.[3]
Ideas
The public Hyperliquid WebSocket API does not supply the L4 feed required by this project. Its documentation calls for a compatible self-hosted order-book server or a third-party provider. That requirement matters before trying the interface: an ordinary public API connection cannot supply the individual-order view.[3]

Read the L4 endpoint prerequisites first, then inspect the snapshot-and-diff model and display controls. You need a compatible data provider; the ordinary public Hyperliquid WebSocket endpoint is insufficient.
