Giving agents a reference instead of a guess

N8n-mcp exposes node documentation, configuration schemas, operations and workflow templates through Model Context Protocol, a standard way for assistants to call external tools. An agent can look up how an n8n component is configured before assembling a workflow. Its author warns users to work on copies and validate changes before production. The separate n8n Skills package supplies instructions for workflow patterns, expressions, node configuration and validation.[3][4]

Preparing documents for model workflows

Doc2md packages Microsoft’s MarkItDown converter as a self-hosted HTTP service. A caller uploads a file and receives Markdown; multi-sheet spreadsheets become named sections and tables. This makes document conversion a callable step in an n8n workflow or retrieval pipeline. Członkowski provides the service wrapper and deployment interface, while the underlying converter is Microsoft’s work.[5]
