Simon Edwardsson is cofounder and CTO of V7 and previously cofounded Aipoly. His independent experiments explore small language models and unusual interfaces, including WorldTUI, a learned simulation of a terminal.[1]

WorldTUI fine-tunes a small language model to predict terminal-screen changes from keypresses. There is no real shell or filesystem behind the apparent commands. Edwardsson describes training it to recover from its own erroneous states and decoding screen rows in parallel to make the interface responsive. The experiment probes how much interactive behavior can be learned from examples; its apparent files are model state rather than durable operating-system objects.[3]

A technical account and browser demo of a model that predicts terminal screens in response to keypresses.
Try a deliberately misspelled command and compare the response with a real shell, then read the training explanation. A desktop browser with WebGPU and a physical keyboard is the intended demo setup; familiarity with terminals helps reveal the simulation’s limits.
