Robert C. "Uncle Bob" Martin is an American software engineer and educator who entered the industry as a self-taught programmer and later founded Object Mentor in 1991 to teach extreme programming, followed by Uncle Bob Consulting LLC. He is a co-author of the Agile Manifesto and originator of the SOLID object-oriented design principles, best known for his book "Clean Code" and decades of writing and speaking on software craftsmanship.
