Career
Wang founded Meituan in 2010 after co-founding the college social network Xiaonei and the microblogging service Fanfou. He studied electronic engineering at Tsinghua University and received a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware. Alongside Meituan, he has served on Li Auto’s board since 2019.[3]
Contributions
Meituan’s 2025 annual report describes combining its LongCat models and open models with merchant information, consumption records and user reviews. Its assistants include the standalone Xiaomei app and Xiaotuan inside Meituan. The strategy is to move users from searching listings toward asking for services. This is company work under Wang’s leadership, not a claim that he personally trained the models.[2]
