Keep the editor and agent in the same task
Lin built the sidebar to keep DSH beside the editor. It passes the active file, selection and referenced paths into an official DeepSeek Harness session. The interface shows streaming activity, permission settings, questions and change review, and can stop edits that would overwrite unsaved files. The community extension is separate from the official runtime.[2]
Inspect execution through VS Code’s debugger
The autonomous-debugging mode uses a project’s VS Code launch configuration to start execution, set breakpoints and inspect stack frames and local variables. This gives the agent feedback to investigate a change. It needs a compatible DeepSeek Harness release; tested versions are documented in the repository.[2]
