Yishen Tu builds open-source tools for Obsidian, the note-taking application that stores a user’s notes as files. Tu’s Claudian plugin brings coding agents into that workspace so they can work directly with a notes vault.[1][2]

Making the vault an agent workspace
Claudian embeds coding agents in Obsidian rather than asking the user to move their notes into a separate chat application. An agent can read, edit, search, and run commands with the vault as its working directory. The interface includes inline edits with a word-level difference preview, references to notes and folders, and persistent sessions. Its provider adapters support several command-line agents, including Claude Code and Codex. Users still need a compatible agent and subscription or API provider; the plugin is a desktop interface to those systems.[2]
News beside working notes
Tu also publishes CLS Telegraph for Obsidian, a smaller plugin for following financial news from the Chinese service 财联社电报. It can show stories in a sidebar or inside a note’s code block, refresh automatically, filter keywords, and expand story details. The README documents support for mobile Obsidian as well as desktop. This project illustrates the same practical concern as Claudian: making an existing information source accessible where someone already writes and organizes material.[3]
A quieter reading surface
The Claudian theme extends Tu’s work from agent controls to the reading and writing environment itself. It changes colors, typography, the editor, and sidebars while preserving acknowledgments for the Meridian and Apex foundations and the Baseline sidebar layout. Its source separates base styles, sidebar behavior, and extras, making the theme’s borrowed foundations and modifications visible to someone maintaining it.[4]
