Career

Lin earned an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech and a B.Eng. in Internet of Things Engineering at Shenzhen Technology University. His CV lists a Baidu image-search internship, followed by co-founding Egonex-AI as CTO in January 2026. He left that company in June, donated Understand Anything to it, and continued developing the project. He joined 4Paradigm that month.[2]

Contributions

A map of a codebase

Understand Anything turns repository structure into a graph that developers can explore and query. Static analysis identifies code elements and dependencies; model-generated explanations add semantic context. The dashboard supports architecture tours and dependency navigation. Generated graphs can be committed with the code, allowing teammates to inspect an existing analysis without rerunning a model. Incremental updates help keep that map aligned with later changes.[3]

Browsers as an agent workspace

dsh-browser connects DeepSeek Harness to Chrome or Firefox through a browser extension and bridge plugin. It exposes structured page text and numbered interactive elements rather than requiring image-based interaction. Because it operates existing tabs, the agent can work within the user’s current login sessions. Lin’s site presents this as another part of his interest in agents that carry out useful everyday work.[1][4]

Researching why emotions arise

Lin is first author of Why We Feel, which introduces EIBench for evaluating explanations of emotions. Instead of asking a model only to label an emotion, it asks the model to reason about observable and implicit causes. The paper combines a benchmark with a coarse-to-fine question-and-answer annotation method and reports that complex emotional situations remain difficult for evaluated models.[5]
