Cloud sessions move a Claude Code agent off the developer's machine and onto Anthropic-hosted infrastructure. With the research preview label removed, long-running tasks no longer depend on a laptop staying awake or a terminal staying open. Anthropic is giving Pro and Max subscribers a one-time credit of $100 or $250 respectively, available through October 7. The practical change is in how work gets scheduled: tasks that take hours can be started and checked later rather than supervised in real time. Teams adopting it should decide up front which repositories and credentials a hosted session may touch, since the agent will be running while nobody is watching.
Cloud sessions are officially available and out of research preview! They let you keep Claude Code working, even when your laptop is closed. Existing subscribers get a one-time credit to try them: $100 on Pro, $250 on Max.

Cloud sessions run on Anthropic-hosted infrastructure, so the work keeps going even without your computer running. Start one at https://t.co/scIJefCE5h, from the Code tab in the Claude mobile app, from the desktop app, or with claude --cloud in the CLI.
The credit is separate from your usage limits, and it applies automatically once you start a cloud session. If you hit a limit locally, keep going in the cloud until your credit runs out. One credit per account, for cloud sessions only.
Follow the link below to claim the credit or run /claim-credit in the CLI. You’ll need GitHub connected to start a session. Claim by Oct 7. Terms apply. https://t.co/TzoO6fzJHB
Context
Anthropic says Claude Code's cloud sessions are now officially available and out of research preview. They keep Claude Code working on Anthropic-hosted infrastructure even when the user's laptop is closed. A session can be started from the web, the Code tab in the Claude mobile app, the desktop app, or with claude --cloud in the CLI, and GitHub must be connected. Existing subscribers get a one-time credit, $100 on Pro and $250 on Max, that cloud sessions spend first before falling back to normal plan usage. The credit is separate from usage limits, is one per account and for cloud sessions only, and must be claimed by October 7. If a user hits a limit locally, they can keep going in the cloud until the credit runs out.
