Context
OpenRouter's half-price offer for OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol was a promotion with a stated September 18, 2026 end date. Eligibility depended on how a request was served: it had to use the OpenAI provider through OpenRouter and could not use a customer's own provider credentials. The discount also covered batch, flex and priority tiers. Those conditions, specified in the announcement thread, explain why selecting the model alone was insufficient to establish eligibility. The announcement should be read as a dated offer, not a current price quote.
