The Pulse: Grok’s CLI caught uploading all your local files to the cloud

A user's forensic report says xAI's Grok CLI prepared personal files for cloud upload after being launched from a home directory. The report on Windows version 0.2.93 documents 51.7 GB staged locally and approximately 48 GB queued for transfer. Its logs show a server-controlled collection setting. They do not establish how many bytes completed the transfer.

A separate teardown of macOS version 0.2.99 describes a collection path that could fall back to the working directory when it could not identify a project root. The researchers observed uploads disabled on their machines at publication. Together, the accounts identify a directory-scoping and disclosure problem, while leaving the actual transfer volume in the user's incident unresolved.
