Claude Code sessions hand each other a summary

New in Claude Code: your sessions can now message each other. Instead of having to re-explain yourself in another session, you can now tell Claude to do it. It sends a summary (not your history or files), and the other session picks it up mid-task.

Context

Anthropic's Claude Code can pass a summary from one session to another while the receiving session is working. The user asks Claude to send the handoff, reducing the need to explain the same task again. What crosses the boundary is a summary: the announcement explicitly excludes the complete conversation history and files. That makes this a way to communicate relevant between sessions, with the handoff limited to what the summary conveys. The announcement describes the behavior.
