Claude Code skill that loads Naval Ravikant's mental models as a runnable cognitive framework for decisions and writing.
What it does
Naval Skill turns career, business, wealth, and desire questions into structured prompts built around five mental models and eight decision heuristics. It first classifies whether a question needs current facts. Concrete cases require research before the framework responds. Abstract questions go directly through concept definitions, reframing, and concise first-person advice.
Why it's ranked here
The repository offers more than a voice imitation. It specifies activation rules, research checkpoints, exit behavior, failure handling, known limitations, and examples. Its own validation found strong agreement on familiar topics but greater certainty than Naval's actual position and only medium confidence on an unfamiliar edge case. That candor makes it useful, though not authoritative.
What's good
The strongest feature is its explicit reasoning discipline. It separates factual questions from abstract ones, requires research for current companies or events, and asks the agent to state uncertainty. Five models cover scalable systems, specialized knowledge, desire management, reframing, and systemic responses to pain. The included validation also records where the framework becomes too absolute.
Tradeoffs
It deliberately speaks in Naval's first person, so inference can feel more authoritative than its evidence warrants. The first-use disclaimer helps, but immersion remains the design goal. Its short, aphoristic style can flatten nuance, and the validation says familiar career advice became more absolute than Naval's actual view. The framework also admits limited usefulness for mental health, specific investments, and people starting from different circumstances.
How to use it well
Use it when you want a pointed second perspective on career choices, business models, time control, specialized knowledge, or competing desires. Give concrete facts when the decision concerns a company, market, or person, since the workflow expects research. Treat the response as a reframing aid, then compare it with your own constraints. It does not replace financial advice, mental health guidance, operational planning, or independent judgment.
