Chert FaceTime is an open-source framework that puts AI agents into FaceTime audio and video calls by programmatically driving the FaceTime UI and routing the agent's audio and video through physical loopback machines, since FaceTime has no public API or AppleScript support. It targets use cases like screen sharing and live coaching that call for a trusted, familiar video channel rather than an embedded widget or a Zoom/Meet link.
Why it made the leaderboard
It's the first working way to put an AI agent on a FaceTime call, using UI automation plus hardware loopback since Apple exposes no API, opening a familiar, trusted video channel to agent builders instead of embedded widgets or Zoom links.
