Building a software factory for AI SDK

Context

Vercel's AI SDK software factory automates the work that prepares a code change for human review. Separate agents classify requests, investigate them, implement changes and review the results, preserving evidence for the maintainer who decides whether to merge. After roughly four weeks, Vercel reported that factory agents authored 25–35% of its weekly merged pull requests. Every merge still required a human. The design makes investigation and implementation repeatable while concentrating maintainer on the proposed change and its supporting evidence. Engineering account
